I would like to inform you that there will be a meeting to elect leaders of the New York Tanzanian Community on Saturday, April 30th, 2011. This meeting will be held at the residence of the Tanzanian Ambassador to the UN at 2:00pm at the following address: 30 Overhill Road, Mount Vernon, NY 10552. You are highly encouraged to attend this very important meeting to exercise your democratic right to elect your leaders.
Also, I would like to remind you that you are encouraged to apply for the Executive Committee's positions before the deadline for submitting applications which is set for April 21st, 2011. The application can be done on-line at the organization's website www.nytanzaniancommunity.org. This website has all the information you need to know about our organization including the articles of incorporation.
Please, do not forget to fill in the membership form, which can also be done on-line or by printing the form from the website and mailing it to the address shown on the form. The $50 membership fee (for 6 months) or $100 (per year) is required in order to become a member and to be eligible to vote. Again, please visit the website for more details.
It is high time that we have a strong organization for the Tanzanians living in the New York Metro area (NY, CT and NJ) and your active participation in this process is vitally important.
